Kids Entertainment for all…
AOL UK has launched its highly successful Kids channel on its portal AOL.co.uk. Previously, only available to AOL subscribers/client customers, AOL wanted to bring its understanding of content for family audiences to the wider web. Safety and security are still at the heart of the service with message boards and chat rooms remaining accessible only to subscribers (and therefore require a verified log on). A rounded content offering is provided for 7-12 year olds, including film exclusives and premiere trailers plus tips on the best place to get help on homework online. With new ad placements and traffic figures set to be double of the closed audience channel, AOL Kids is a very interesting opportunity for sponsors and advertisers wanting to engage with this audience.

AOL partners with Travolution for revealing new research study
In September 2007, AOL partnered with Travolution, to conduct a survey into the travel habits of different generations of consumers. Europe may be behind the US travel market, but the research reveals that the gap is closing and the potential opportunities are vast. The key to future success for travel companies is to have a clear understanding of different consumers’ expectations and the key trends driving people online, most significantly, the rise of DIY travel and the ‘silver surfer’ (55 years and above).
